Deleting your DagWorld account
Last updated 30 July 2026
You can delete your DagWorld account at any time, and you do not need to ask us for permission or give a reason. This page explains how to do it, what gets deleted, and what does not.
Deleting your account removes your personal data. It does not remove the app's library. The books, audiobooks and quotes stay where they are, and you can keep browsing, searching and reading quotes without an account at all.
Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it is the one we recommend.
- Open DagWorld and go to Settings.
- Open Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. The confirmation step is there because the deletion cannot be undone.
Once you confirm, you are signed out on that device and your account is queued for deletion.
Delete by email
If you have lost access to the app, changed device, or cannot sign in, send us an email instead.
- Write to support@benlottejnr.org.
- Send it from the email address on the account. That is how we confirm the request is yours. We cannot action a deletion request sent from a different address, because we have no safe way to tell that the two belong to the same person.
- Use the subject line Delete my DagWorld account so it reaches the right queue.
You do not need to include a password, because DagWorld has no password login. Sign-in is with Google or Apple only.
What is deleted
All of the following are removed:
- Your account identity, which is the sign-in record linking your Google or Apple account to DagWorld, along with the name and email address held against it.
- Your reading and listening progress, including where you had reached in every book and audiobook.
- Your highlights.
- Your bookmarks.
- Your notes.
- Your saved quotes.
- Any quotes you submitted, whether they were still awaiting moderation or had already been approved.
- Any notification device token held for the daily quote, so the notifications stop.
What is not deleted
- The catalog itself. Books, audiobooks and quotes are published content, not your data. They are unaffected by your deletion and remain available to everyone else.
- Anonymised and aggregated diagnostic data. Crash reports and usage counts that have already been stripped of anything identifying, and cannot be traced back to a person, are not tied to your account and so cannot be picked out and deleted.
- Anything we are legally required to keep. Some records, for example transaction and tax records, have to be retained for a fixed period even after an account is closed. Retention window: [TO CONFIRM retention window]. Records kept for this reason are not used for anything else.
Subscriptions are cancelled separately
Please read this part carefully, because it is the one people get wrong and get charged for.
If you have a paid subscription, it is billed by Apple or by Google, not by us. We do not hold your card details and we cannot stop the billing from our side. Deleting your DagWorld account does not cancel your subscription. If you delete the account and leave the subscription running, Apple or Google will keep charging you at each renewal.
Cancel the subscription first, then delete the account.
- iOS: Settings, then your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then DagWorld, then Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play, then your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then DagWorld, then Cancel subscription.
Refunds are also handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, so a refund request has to go to them rather than to us.
How long it takes
We action deletion requests as soon as we can. A request made in the app takes effect immediately for you, in that you are signed out and your data stops being served. Removal from our systems and backups follows shortly after. If you emailed us, we will reply to confirm once it is done.
Starting again
Deletion is permanent, and there is no way for us to restore your highlights, notes or progress once they are gone. You are welcome to sign in again later with the same Google or Apple account, but you will be starting from an empty library, with none of your previous activity.
