It helps if you tell us the device you are using, whether that is iOS, Android or a browser, and the title of the book, message, song or video involved. If something looks wrong on screen, a screenshot saves a lot of back and forth. The app's own Help & feedback entry, in the menu behind your avatar, starts an email with the app version already filled in.

Questions people ask

Is DagWorld free?

The books are, permanently. All 133 titles are free to read with an account, with no card asked for and nothing to cancel. The subscription covers the rest of the catalogue: the quotes, the music, the video, the podcast and the audio messages.

What does the subscription cost?

£1.49 a month or £14.99 a year, and the first seven days are free. The trial runs through your App Store or Google Play account and becomes a paid subscription when the week ends unless you cancel first; cancel in time and nothing is charged, and the books stay open either way. Prices are shown in your own currency in the app, set by Apple or Google from the sterling price.

Do I need an account just to read?

Yes. DagWorld asks you to sign in before anything, because everything the app does is saved against you: where you reached in a book, what you highlighted, what you kept. Signing in costs nothing and opens the whole book catalogue.

How do I sign in?

With Google, with Apple, or with an email address and a password. If you signed up with Google or Apple you have no password with us, so use the same button you started with. If you signed up with an email address and have forgotten the password, use the reset link on the sign-in screen. If sign-in is not working at all, that is the first thing to tell us in an email.

How do I turn the daily quote on or off, and change the time?

Setting up the app asks you what time you want it, and it arrives daily from then on. There is a second one for quotes you have kept yourself, on its own clock so the two never land together, a morning note of what is new in the catalogue, and a reminder on the first of each month to pick your themes. All four live under Topics and notifications, where each has its own switch and its own hour, and any of them can be turned off. If you have blocked notifications for DagWorld at the system level, your phone's own settings need to allow them first.

What is a preaching alarm?

An alarm that plays preaching instead of a tone. Pick a time and the days, and choose what it draws from: the themes you picked for the month, one of your playlists, or a single message. On Android the message starts playing by itself at the set time. On iPhone the alarm rings until you reach for the phone, and the tap that answers it is what starts the message, because iOS will not start audio without a tap. The alarms are kept on the phone that made them, like a clock app's, so they do not follow you to a second device. They come with the subscription.

Can I use it offline?

Yes. Books, songs, audio messages and podcast episodes can be downloaded to the device and used without a connection, which is worth doing before a flight or a long journey. Downloads live on the device they were made on. Progress made offline syncs to your account the next time the app has a connection. Videos are streamed rather than downloaded.

Where do the audio messages and videos come from?

The audio messages are the camps, the conferences and the Sunday services, 6,200+ messages and more than 6,900 hours of them, with his podcast beside them at 1,560+ episodes. The shelves are refreshed every day, so the newest messages are already inside when you open the app. The video is played inside the app, so a camp stays together in the order it was preached rather than scattering across a feed. All of it is part of the subscription.

Do the songs show the words?

Most of them. The lyrics scroll line by line with the music where we hold them, which is 381 of the 496 songs today, and the rest are being added. Tap the lyrics panel on the player to open it.

Are there audiobooks?

Not yet. The books are text today. Narration is planned, and when it lands you will be able to move between reading and listening from the book itself, picking up the audio where you stopped reading. There is nothing to switch to at the moment.

Can I change the app's colour theme?

Yes, and there are two separate choices. The accent colour is green or orange. Light and dark follow your device by default, so the app is dark when your phone is dark, but you can override that and pin the app to light or dark on its own. Both live in Settings and neither disturbs the other. The reader keeps its warm paper background in every theme, because it is built for long reading rather than for looking colourful.

Can I add my own quotes, and who sees them?

Yes. You can keep a quote from any passage you are reading, or write one of your own. It is saved to your account straight away and it is yours alone: private, seen by nobody else, never reviewed, and never added to the public catalogue. Deleting your account deletes them with it.

How do I report a problem with the text of a book?

Email support@dagworld.org with the book title, the chapter, and the wording as it appears. A short screenshot of the passage is ideal. Typos, broken paragraphs and misplaced headings all get passed to the people who prepare the texts.

How do I delete my account?

See Delete account for what is removed and how to ask for it. Deleting an account removes the material saved against it, including highlights, notes, bookmarks, saved quotes and your progress in every medium, so export or note down anything you want to keep first.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Through Apple or Google, not through us, because they take the payment. On iOS: Settings, your name at the top, Subscriptions, DagWorld, Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play, your profile picture, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, DagWorld, Cancel subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the period you have already paid for running. The books stay free afterwards.

Which devices are supported?

DagWorld is built for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, and the same library is at app.dagworld.org in a browser with nothing to install. Offline downloads are a feature of the phone and tablet apps.
