Help with DagWorld

Last updated 30 July 2026

Getting in touch

Email support@benlottejnr.org and a person will read it. We are a small team, so please allow a little time for a reply.

It helps if you tell us the device you are using, whether that is iOS, Android or a browser, and the title of the book or quote involved. If something looks wrong on screen, a screenshot saves a lot of back and forth.

DagWorld is not released yet. Until it is, support is mainly for questions about the app, the catalogue and your data. If you want to know when it goes live, the Get the app page is the place to start.

Questions people ask

Is DagWorld free, and what needs an account?

Browsing the catalogue, searching it and reading quotes are open to everyone. An account is only needed for the things that have to be saved to you: reading progress, highlights, bookmarks, notes, saved quotes, and submitting a quote of your own.

Do I need an account just to read?

No. You can open the app, look through the books and quotes, search by theme and read without signing in. Sign in when you want the app to remember where you got to, or to keep a highlight.

How do I sign in?

With Google or Apple. There is no password to create and none to forget, so there is no password reset either. If your Google or Apple sign-in is not working, that is the first thing to tell us in an email.

How do I turn the daily quote on or off, and change the time?

The daily quote is opt-in, so nothing arrives until you switch it on. Open Settings, turn on the daily quote, and pick the time you want it. Change the time in the same place whenever you like, and switch it off there too. If you have blocked notifications for DagWorld at the system level, your phone's own settings need to allow them first.

Can I read offline?

Yes. Books can be downloaded for reading and listening without a connection, which is worth doing before a flight or a long journey. Downloads live on the device they were made on. Reading progress made offline syncs to your account the next time the app has a connection.

How do I switch between reading and listening?

Where a book has an audiobook, you can move between the two from the book itself. Pick up the audio where you stopped reading, or open the text where the audio left off, without hunting for the place by hand.

How do I change the narrator voice?

Where more than one narration exists for a book, the available voices are listed on the book and you can choose between them. Some titles have a single narration, in which case there is nothing to change.

Can I change the app's colour theme?

Yes, and there are two separate choices. The accent colour is green or orange. Light and dark follow your device by default, so the app is dark when your phone is dark, but you can override that and pin the app to light or dark on its own. Both live in Settings and neither disturbs the other. The reader keeps its warm paper background in every theme, because it is built for long reading rather than for looking colourful.

How do I submit a quote, and why is mine private?

You can submit a quote from a passage you are reading. It is saved to your account straight away and is private to you until a moderator has approved it. That step exists so that anything shown publicly is accurate and correctly attributed. Your quote stays usable to you throughout, whether or not it is approved.

How do I report a problem with the text of a book?

Email support@benlottejnr.org with the book title, the chapter, and the wording as it appears. A short screenshot of the passage is ideal. Typos, broken paragraphs and misplaced headings all get passed to the people who prepare the texts.

How do I delete my account?

See Delete account for what is removed and how to ask for it. Deleting an account removes the material saved against it, including highlights, notes, bookmarks, saved quotes and reading progress, so export or note down anything you want to keep first.

Which devices are supported?

DagWorld is coming to iOS and Android. A web app at app.dagworld.org will follow, for reading in a browser with nothing to install. Offline downloads are a feature of the phone and tablet apps.

Something else is wrong

Write to us. Even a rough description of what you expected and what happened instead is enough to start with, and we will ask for anything else we need.
